Gamblin Dry Pigments are a 100% pure pigment line, the same as used to create their Artist Grade oil paint. These finely-ground colors allow artists to easily bring out the greatest potential in each.
Pigment is used to color a variety of painting media, not only oils. Acrylics, watercolors, egg tempera, Cold Wax and encaustic are all other examples of how pigments may be implemented into ones work.
In regards to studio safety, artists should wear proper protective equipment when handling all powdered pigments, which includes a quality dust mask or respirator, gloves, and protective eyewear. Once suspended in a binder, pigments may be safely handled, however, in loose powder form they can be harmful to handle and/or inhale.
