For nearly 80 years, Hull's Art Supply & Framing has been helping artists, students, makers, designers, families, and creative minds find the materials — and the inspiration — to make something extraordinary.
Located in the heart of New Haven, Hull's is a proudly independent art supply store where great products still come with something increasingly difficult to find: people who actually know what they're talking about.
Whether you're a professional artist searching for exactly the right pigment, a student walking in with a class supply list, a parent looking for something creative for the kids, or someone who simply loves beautiful and unusual things, there's plenty to discover at Hull's.
Paints, brushes, canvas, papers, drawing materials, printmaking supplies, sculpture materials and tools for beginners through professional artists.
Specialty materials, tools and supplies for architecture, design, modeling and fabrication.
Products designed to get young imaginations working — and keep them away from a screen for a while.
Fountain pens, inks, notebooks, journals and writing accessories you probably didn't know you needed until you saw them.
Interesting, artistic, clever and occasionally wonderfully strange things that make Hull's as much fun to browse as it is to shop.
Expert custom framing with an enormous selection of mouldings and options, plus ready-made frames for simpler projects.
You can buy art supplies almost anywhere.
What you can't find everywhere is Hull's.
We believe knowledgeable service still matters. When you have a question, we'll help you find an answer. When you're trying to solve a creative problem, we'll work through it with you. And when you don't know exactly what you need, we'll help you figure that out too.
We stock quality products from the brands artists know and trust, along with interesting things you won't necessarily find at a national chain. Our everyday pricing is competitive without making you chase coupons, decode promotions or wait for the next sale.
And if you can't make it to New Haven, you can shop Hull's online and have a little piece of your favorite art store delivered to your door.
That's how an independent art store should work.
One of the best compliments we hear from customers isn't, "Hull's is my favorite art supply store."
It's simply:
We've even heard more than a few people walk through the door and announce, "I'm in my happy place."
We understand.
There's something special about wandering through shelves filled with color, paper, pens, brushes, journals, tools and things you didn't know existed five minutes earlier but suddenly absolutely need.
That's part of the Hull's experience.
Hull's has been part of New Haven since 1947.
Through generations of artists, students, families and creative people, we've remained an independent local business committed to good products, knowledgeable service and the creative community around us.
Nearly eight decades later, we're still here — still independent, still evolving, and still excited when somebody walks through the door ready to make something.
Come see why generations of customers have made Hull's their creative destination.
