✏️🖤Rich, soft graphite for expressive shading, strong values, and beautifully dark drawing. The Cretacolor Cleos Fine Art Graphite Pencil in4B delivers the softer graphite artists reach for when a drawing needs deeper shadows, smooth tonal development, and bolder marks.
Part of Cretacolor's20-grade Cleos range from 9B through 9H, the 4B offers a versatile balance of softness and control — dark enough for expressive work while remaining manageable for detailed drawing.
4B sits comfortably on the softer side of the graphite scale, producing darker marks with less pressure than harder grades.
It's an excellent choice when moving beyond preliminary lines intoshadows, dimensional modeling, texture, and expressive finishing work.
Use a lighter touch for softer gray values or increase pressure to produce substantially richer, darker passages.
4B is where graphite starts getting deliciously dark. 🖤 Softer, richer, and more expressive than everyday HB territory, it's an excellent workhorse grade for building shadows, creating smooth tonal transitions, and giving a drawing some serious depth.
