Cretacolor Graphite Aquarell is a high-quality water-soluble graphite pencil designed for both traditional graphite drawing and watercolor techniques. It can be used for sketching and preliminary drawing, then activated with water to create soft washes, tonal transitions and expressive graphite effects.

Graphite from the pencil tip can also be picked up directly with a damp brush and applied to paper, while graphite abrasion can be reused with water. The pencil can even be worked directly onto wet paper for fluid, atmospheric effects.
