Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons made with full pigmentation for brilliant color and special lightfastness. The colors can be mixed, smudged and painted with water, making them versatile for traditional pastel work and mixed-media techniques. Fixation is recommended.

Their square shape provides plenty of versatility: use the broad side for larger areas and the edges for sharp lines and precise contours. Cretacolor also recommends combining them with Pastel Crayon Pencils and other materials.
