Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons formulated with full pigmentation for brilliant color and strong lightfastness. The soft pastel material can be mixed and smudged, and it can also be painted with water for additional creative effects.

The square Carré format gives artists multiple working surfaces: use the broad side for covering larger areas or the edges for sharp lines and precise contours. Pastel Carré can also be combined with Cretacolor Pastel Crayon Pencils and other materials. Fixation is recommended after use.
