Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons with full pigmentation for brilliant color and special lightfastness. They can be mixed, smudged, and painted with water, giving artists flexibility for both dry pastel and water-based techniques. Fixation is necessary after use.

The square Carré profile provides broad sides for covering larger areas while the edges create sharp lines and precise contours. They can also be combined with Cretacolor Pastel Crayon Pencils and other materials.
