Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons with full pigmentation for brilliant color and special lightfastness. They can be mixed, smudged, and painted with water, allowing artists to combine traditional pastel techniques with water-based effects. Fixation is necessary after use.

The square Carré format gives you broad sides for laying down larger areas of color and defined edges for sharp lines and precise contours. They can also be combined with Cretacolor Pastel Crayon Pencils and other materials.
