Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons made with full pigmentation for brilliant color and special lightfastness. They can be mixed, smudged and painted with water, giving artists plenty of flexibility for both dry and water-based techniques. Fixation is recommended after application.

The 7 × 7 mm square stick allows the broad side to cover larger areas while its edges create sharper lines and precise contours. Each Carré measures 72 mm long, and the range includes 72 colors.
