Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons with full pigmentation for brilliant color and special lightfastness. Their versatile formula can be mixed, smudged and painted with water for a range of dry pastel and mixed-media techniques.

The square profile provides broad sides for covering larger areas while the defined edges allow for sharp lines and precise contours. Fixation is necessary for finished work.
