Cretacolor Pastel Carré Hard Pastels are unfired, oil-free pastel crayons with full pigmentation for brilliant color and special lightfastness. They can be mixed, smudged, and painted with water, making them versatile for both dry pastel work and water-based techniques. Fixation is necessary after use.

The square Carré format provides broad sides for covering larger areas and defined edges for sharp lines and precise contours. They can also be combined with Cretacolor Pastel Crayon Pencils and other materials.
