Magnesium Carbonate is traditionally used to stiffen ink resulting in a more matte, as opposed to glossy, finish. Gamblin recommends adding small amounts to ink and be sure to mix well. Once mixed with ink, it becomes transparent and will not alter the inks color. Magnesium Carbonate can be used to alter both Gamblins Etching and Relief Inks.
