GAMBLIN ETCHING INK PRUSSIAN BLUE

Prussian Blue: A warm blue with a more muted tint than Phthalo Blue. It has a high tinting strength, is lightfast, and an especially beautiful transparency. Prussian Blue, the first synthetic color of the Industrial Revolution, was discovered by accident in 1704 while a chemist was trying to formulate artificial crimson.

Gamblin Etching Inks are formulated for professional printmakers who want strong reliable inks for edition printing. Their palette of pure, intense pigments offers a broad range of color mixing potential. The Gamblin line offers artists a variety of blacks and graphite formulated to meet the demands of printmakers looking for deep, rich blacks with good working characteristics.

Portland Black and Portland Cool Black are ideal for edition printing; both offer a strong line and medium plate tone. For engravers, printers of mezzotints or other artists who need more resistance from their ink, Portland Stiff Black is available.
